  • Represented ABN AMRO, Wells Fargo, Wachovia, Washington Mutual, JP Morgan Chase, Ford Motor Company, PETCO Animal Supplies, Fidelity Investments and other Fortune 50 financial services institutions and other companies in more than a dozen district court patent infringement litigations initiated by Network Signatures LLC regarding intermediate network authentication using cryptographic digital signatures based on asymmetric cryptography
  • Defended HSBC, ABN AMRO and LaSalle Bank in district court litigations involving call center technology owned by Ronald A. Katz. Also, counseled more than ten other financial services companies and other companies regarding the Katz patent portfolio
  • Represented Citibank as plaintiff’s counsel in district court patent infringement litigation involving a system for remote distribution of financial services
  • Defended Citibank in district court patent infringement litigation involving methods for conducting financial transactions using an ATM network and debiting of user accounts in real-time
  • Successfully defended an international financial services institution against claim in excess of $100 million by an unsolicited vendor relating to alleged theft of trade secrets relating to computerized forfaiting transaction exchange
  • Represented ABN AMRO in dispute involving patents alleged to cover Check 21 implementation for electronic capture of information on checks
  • Defended top ten international financial services company against allegations by an unsolicited vendor regarding theft of trade secret issues relating to method for posting debits and credits to increase bank revenue
  • Defended Citibank, ABN AMRO and LaSalle against allegations of infringement of patents relating to credit card incentive programs
  • Defended a domestic financial institution against allegations of infringement of patents purportedly covering check imaging systems used for later indexing and subsequent retrieval
  • Represented a top ten international financial services institution in a patent infringement dispute involving patents covering a bond auction process
  • Represented a domestic financial services company in a patent infringement dispute involving patents for a system and method for allowing investors to assemble customized investment portfolios including fractional shares of various investment instruments
  • Represented ABN AMRO in a patent infringement dispute involving patents for a system for facilitating cross border trade in goods and services (electronic letter of credit)
  • Defended several leading financial institutions in a patent infringement dispute involving patents allegedly covering methods for protecting the security of data transmissions.
  • Represented Raymond James in district court patent infringement litigation where patent covered encryption software
  • Represented Aetna in district court litigation involving patents covering bar codes
  • Represented General Electric Capital in a case against Meridian involving credit card software systems
  • Represented Safra banking family in worldwide trademark litigations and related proceedings
  • Represented Citicorp in a trademark action brought by the CIT Group, challenging Citicorp™ and the Travelers Group™ proposed adoption of the name Citigroup for their post-merger entity
