Practice

Mr. Dundas is the Managing Partner of the Abu Dhabi office, responsible for the firm's Middle East practice. He joined the firm in 1973 and has worked in the corporate finance, bank finance, leveraged lease and pre-bankruptcy workout areas. His practice involves all aspects of oil and gas matters for national oil company clients as well as general corporate matters for a variety of clients, including cross border acquisitions. Mr. Dundas has substantial experience in joint venture projects and project financing, including construction and engineering supervision contracts, feedstock arrangements, sales arrangements, transportation arrangements (charters and contracts of affreightment), export credit financings and international bank syndicated loans. He has also worked on numerous shipping matters, Liberian and U.S. flags, for both shipping companies and financial institutions.


Recent Experience

  • United Arab Emirates Offsets Group as sponsor of the $6 billion Dolphin gas project
  • Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in $1.5 billion joint venture petrochemical project with Borealis A/S and in the $4 billion expansion of the ADGAS LNG project, renegotiation of the joint venture with BP, TOTAL and Mitsui and structure and establishment of shipping arrangement for $2 billion LNG fleet
  • Qatar General Petroleum Corporation in the expansion and related financing for its petrochemical plant and in long-term offtake contract for LNG project, in $800 million port construction contract and related export credit financing and in $400 million syndicated borrowing
  • International Petroleum Investment Company in downstream investments, OMV (Austria), CEPSA (Spain) and Hyundai Oil (Korea)
