Practice
Philip Dundas is the Managing Partner of the Abu Dhabi office, responsible for the firm’s Middle East practice. He joined the firm in 1973 and has worked in the M&A, corporate finance, bank finance, leveraged lease and pre-bankruptcy workout areas. His practice is split primarily between M&A and Project Development & Finance and involves all aspects of oil and gas matters for national oil company clients as well as general corporate matters for a variety of clients, including cross-border acquisitions. Mr. Dundas has some ICC arbitration experience and coordination of multijurisdictional litigation for national oil company clients.
Experience
- Mubadala as sponsor of the $6 billion Dolphin gas project
- Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in the $1.5 billion joint venture petrochemical project with Borealis A/S and in the $4 billion expansion of the ADGAS LNG project, renegotiation of the joint venture with BP, TOTAL and Mitsui structure and establishment of shipping arrangements for the $2 billion LNG fleet
- International Petroleum Investment Company in downstream investments, Cosmo (Tokyo), Borealis (Abu Dhabi), OMV (Austria), CEPSA (Spain) and Hyundai Oil (Korea)
- Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in the Sour Gas Project
- Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in the renegotiation of concession and development agreements to permit the entry of Exxon in the upper Zakum field
- International Petroleum Investment Company in its disposal of approximately 13.5% of Barclays Bank PLC ordinary shares to numerous market investors
- Abu Dhabi Investors on participation in the Barclays Bank PLC $10.5 billion capital raising
