Shearman & Sterling Ranked Top in BSN Diversity League Tables

Shearman & Sterling’s commitment to diversity has been recognised in this year’s Black Solicitors Network UK league tables.

The firm has been ranked as the highest employer of ethnic minority associates in the UK out of a survey that reviewed over 80 national and international law firms.

This annual voluntary survey, which is now in its second year, analyses demographic trends of law firms in respect to ethnicity and gender. Firms are then ranked on the total proportion of ethnic minority and female staff that they have at different levels from paralegal to partner.

Marcus Franks, co head of Global Human Resources, commented: “These findings make evident our strong commitment to diversity and also our ongoing development of a multicultural, multiethnic and gender diverse workforce. The firm employs best practices in implementing its Global Diversity Initiative to foster a firm culture that supports and promotes diversity, so that all staff are included and valued.”
