New York asset management partner Brad Sabel was featured in a May 6 Associated Press story on the federal government's "stress tests." The article noted that regulators and internal auditors routinely use stress tests, done in private, to manage bank risks. Sabel pointed out that open discussion of the stress tests, from the White House on down, has made it hard for regulators to be as candid as they'd like. "I think there's an awful lot of value in keeping confidential the discussions between banks and examiners," he said.
