Shearman & Sterling represented the eight investment banks acting as dealer managers of The Royal Bank of Scotland's $7 billion senior notes offering in the US, guaranteed by the UK government. This was the second offering by RBS of its debt securities into the US with the benefit of a UK government guarantee.

Shearman & Sterling also advised on the inaugural offering of UK government-guaranteed debt securities into the US by RBS.
