Shearman & Sterling represented Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Barclays Capital Inc. and Wells Fargo Securities in hhgregg, Inc.'s public offering of 4,025,000 shares of common stock. hhgregg, Inc. is a leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics, home appliances and related products and services, operating 113 stores in nine states. Concurrently with the public offering, Freeman Spogli & Co., a private equity firm that is the company's largest stockholder, purchased an additional 1,000,000 shares in private placement. The net proceeds from the public offering and private placement will be used to fund the company's new store openings in Tampa, Richmond and Memphis and its expansion into mid-sized metropolitan markets in the Mid-Atlantic region.
