Shearman & Sterling LLP has represented Qatar Holding LLC in connection with its US$2.8 billion cornerstone investment in Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC). Qatar Holding LLC and ABC also entered into a memorandum of understanding in relation to their strategic cooperation post-closing.

Agricultural Bank, China’s largest lender by number of customers, raised US$19.2 billion in its dual listing in Shanghai and Hong Kong and could raise $US22.1bn if both overallotment options are exercised, which would make it the world’s largest-ever IPO.
