For more than ten years, partners in our London office have been involved  in many innovative and creative structures including Europe's first CMBS transaction in 1993, and numerous acquisition financing/refinancing deals using "whole business" secured loan technology and others.

Shearman & Sterling has been involved in all of the Canary Wharf Group plc financings (the first secured loan property deal to be rated AAA by S&P in the world), and the double award winning Tornator Finnish whole business forestry deal, which also involved creating a new listed joint-venture company.  In addition, the firm has acted for rating agencies, venture capital firms, corporations and trustees across numerous jurisdictions.
