See Yourself at Shearman & Sterling
Associates and Trainees
Our firm's ethos calls for trainees and qualified associates who are highly motivated, innovative and relish hard work and intellectual challenges. You will be ambitious, keen to assume professional responsibility from the start of your career and determined to become a successful partner in a first-class law firm. In return, we can offer the highest quality work in London, exceptional training and support, and excellent career development opportunities with the potential to rotate through other international offices.
The transactions undertaken by the firm are high-end in nature and technically rigorous with the majority having international/multi-jurisdictional elements. From the outset, you will be treated as an integral part of our team and your creative contribution to all transactions will be positively encouraged.
One of the advantages of working for Shearman & Sterling in London is that, although the office is growing rapidly, you will be part of a smaller team in a relatively informal yet professional atmosphere. We ensure that all of our trainees and associates are given real and challenging work from the very earliest stages of their career. In addition, we highly value their enthusiasm, intellect and opinion and give them significant client exposure and responsibility from day one.
The firm and its individual practice groups provide many opportunities for the partners, associates, trainees and other staff to get to know one another. A wide range of social events are held throughout the year, enabling partners, associates and trainees to form important bonds.
Our goal is to recruit people who will stay with us and who want to become partners in our continuing success story.
Professional Support
As a growing office, we are continually looking to develop the functional support areas of our business. We believe that our support teams are critical in ensuring that our lawyers provide a first-class service to clients around the world.
We have over 100 support staff in human resources, marketing, financial services, library and information services, professional development and training, information technology, facilities services and a 24-hour document production centre.
As our office expands, we aim to recruit high calibre, experienced people to join our elite support team who will stay with us and contribute to our continuing success story.
