On July 28 at 10:00 am ET, in partnership with Innovate Finance, the industry body for FinTech in the U.K., partner Pawel Szaja and associate Cassandra Cuellar joined by Kirsty Grant, Chief Investment Officer at Seedrs, and Ryan Gilbert, General Partner at Propel Venture Partners, for a webinar titled “Return of the Down Round: Financing Amidst a Pandemic.” The webinar was the second installment of Shearman & Sterling’s new FinTech Salon Series: Digital Edition 2020, and discussed the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on different verticals and valuations within the FinTech industry, advice for companies looking to raise funds at this time and available government support programs.

The webinar also touched on FinTech investment trends, predictions for the second half of the year, investing in diverse founding teams, executive compensation issues and more.
