Shearman & Sterling advised the Supreme Petroleum Council and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (“ADNOC”) on the grant of a 10% interest in the new 40-year onshore oil concession in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to Total, the first oil and gas company to be granted rights in the new Abu Dhabi onshore concession. ADNOC is a long-standing client of Shearman & Sterling, which has had an office in Abu Dhabi for 40 years.
