Domenico Fanuele, managing partner of Shearman & Sterling's Milan and Rome offices, has been named one of the 30 most powerful lawyers in Italy by GQ Magazine. The magazine hails Fanuele as one of a new generation of individuals providing cutting-edge legal advice to the Italian market.

Fanuele was also recently recognized as one of the top 50 Italian lawyers by the Italian legal magazine, LegalCommunity. He is described as one of the leading lawyers in the Italian real estate sector for his exceptional work advising Qatar Holding in its acquisition of Porta Nuova. 

Dually qualified as a U.S. and Italian lawyer, Fanuele is head of the firm’s Italian corporate practice and focuses on private and public M&A, real estate, capital markets transactions and strategic joint ventures. He regularly represents investment banks, corporate clients, property companies and private equity funds in a broad range of transactions.
