Shearman & Sterling – And Eight of Our Lawyers – Shortlisted for Euromoney’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards

Shearman & Sterling has been shortlisted for four “Firm of the Year” awards; and eight of our lawyers have been shortlisted for seven individual practice area awards for the 2016 Euromoney Legal Media Group Americas Women in Business Law Awards. The Women in Business Law Awards recognize the leading women lawyers in the region and celebrate the best firm initiatives for gender diversity, minority women, mentoring, work-life balance, pro bono work and talent management, as well as best in country/region.

The Shearman & Sterling lawyers who were shortlisted are:

  • Best in banking and finance (including project finance) – Cynthia Urda Kassis (New York-Project Development & Finance) 
  • Best in capital markets – Antonia Stolper (New York-Capital Markets) 
  • Best in corporate governance – Doreen Lilienfeld (New York-Compensation, Governance & ERISA) 
  • Best in energy, natural resources & mining – Tricia Hammes (Washington, DC-Project Development & Finance) and Cynthia Urda Kassis (New York-Project Development & Finance) 
  • Best in mergers & acquisitions – Clare O’Brien (New York-Mergers & Acquisitions) 
  • Best in real estate – Lisa Brill (New York-Real Estate) 
  • Best in structured finance (including securitization & derivatives) – Donna Parisi (New York-Derivatives & Structured Products) 
Shearman & Sterling was shortlisted in these categories:

  • Best gender diversity initiative by an international firm 
  • Best international firm Latin America practice 
  • Best international firm for diversity 
  • Best international firm for women in business law 
The awards will be announced on June 9 in New York.
