Shearman & Sterling Receives ‘Deal of the Year’ Awards From India Business Law Journal

Shearman & Sterling received “Deal of the Year” awards from India Business Law Journal, a leading publication that delivers expert analysis of the legal and regulatory challenges for domestic and international businesses in India, for the firm’s work on four high-profile India-related transactions.

India Business Law Journal’s annual Deals of the Year awards showcases the most significant deals and disputes in 2016 and recognizes the legal advisors who led on them. The following deals have been featured in the India Business Law Journal’s 2017 issue:

  • Greenkos Green Bond Offering. Represented Greenko Energy Holdings and Greenko Investment Company in the offering of US$500 million 4.875% senior notes due 2023 by Greenko Investment Company. The offering marked India’s first high yield green bond issuance and addressed the financing needs of Greenko Energy Holdings’ Indian operating subsidiaries.
  • HT Global IT Solutions High Yield Bond Offering. Represented Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, ING and UBS as initial purchasers on the US$300 million 7% senior notes offering by HT Global IT Solutions.
  • Sale of Minacs to Synnex Corporation. Represented CX Partners and Capital Square Partners in the sale of Minacs to Concentrix Global Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of Fortune 500 company Synnex Corporation. Minacs is a leading outsourcing business solutions partner to global corporations in the manufacturing, retail, telecom, technology, media and entertainment, banking, insurance, healthcare and public sectors.
  • General Electrics Sale of Its Commercial Lending and Leasing Business. Represented General Electric in the sale of its commercial lending and leasing businesses in India, GE Capital and GE Money, to a consortium of former GE Capital management backed by AION Capital Partners.
