Stolper Receives Lifetime Achievement Award for Furthering Gender and Inclusion in the Legal Profession

Partner Antonia Stolper (New York-Capital Markets), Americas Regional Managing Partner, received the Chambers award for “Lifetime Achievement for Furthering Gender Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession.” The sixth annual Chambers Women in Law Awards: USA 2017 ceremony was held at the Yale Club of New York on June 15. 

Stolper was recognized for her tireless efforts as a champion of and advocate for the advancement of women throughout her career, including being a founding member of Shearman & Sterling’s Women Partners Committee and a board member of the Council of Americas, where she helped to form the Women’s Hemispheric Network. Further, with over 10 years working with the Cyrus R. Vance Center, she has led pro bono work for vulnerable women and recently, in just six months, set up 19 Women in Profession committees across Latin America. Stolper accepted the award “on behalf of all women lawyers in my profession, both here and in Latin America, with whom I have had the privilege to work.

The Chambers Women in Law Awards recognize the achievements of legal practitioners both in-house and in private practice, as well as firms and companies that have brought about dramatic improvements in gender equality, women's advancement and inclusion in the legal profession. With over five years of extensive research into diversity in the United States, these awards provide an opportunity to promote the importance of gender diversity and equal opportunities for women across the legal spectrum.
