For the second straight year, Shearman & Sterling’s Capital Markets practice received high-profile recognitions from International Financial Law Review (IFLR). The firm was awarded “High Yield Law Firm of the Year” at a ceremony hosted at the Island Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong on March 1, 2018. Indika Energy’s senior notes offering was also awarded “High Yield Deal of the Year.” Shearman & Sterling advised the initial purchasers, Citigroup and J.P. Morgan, on that deal.

In addition, the firm was shortlisted in the categories of “Equity Team of the Year,” “Project Finance Firm of the Year,” “China Practice of the Year,” “US Law Firm of the Year” and “International Law Firm of the Year.” The firm also advised on five additional deals that were shortlisted for "Deal of the Year" awards – WuXi Biologics’ IPO in the Equity category; Kaisa Group Holdings’ exchange offer and bond issuance and Paiton Energy’s coal-fired power plant project bond in the High Yield category; and Karot Hydropower Project and Sirajganj Greenfield Power Plant Project in the Project Finance category.
