Shearman & Sterling counsel Roberta B. Cherman (São Paulo-Capital Markets) was named to Latinvex’s list of “Rising Legal Stars.” The list includes counsel and senior attorneys from U.S.-headquartered law firms who advise corporates in Latin America.

Roberta, who speaks Portuguese, English and French, and is admitted to practice in New York and Brazil, focuses on capital markets for U.S. and Brazilian corporations and financial institutions.

Roberta first joined Shearman & Sterling as an associate in the Capital Markets practice in New York. Most recently, before rejoining the firm, she was the Head of the Legal Department at Itaú BBA International, in Lisbon and London, and Head of the Trade Finance, Structured Products and Funding team at Itaú Unibanco’s legal department.
