Partner Masahisa Ikeda, Asia Regional Managing Partner and Head of the Tokyo office, was ranked ninth in Japan—the highest ranking earned in this survey by a lawyer from a non-Japanese firm—in the "international economic law and commerce" category of the Annual Survey of Leading Lawyers by The Nikkei.

The Nikkei survey, which is Japan’s most authoritative ranking of lawyers, is compiled based on voting among lawyers and business institutions in Japan.  Masahisa’s selection as the highest-ranked lawyer from a non-Japanese firm is particularly significant because the voting process gives lawyers from the bigger local firms a competitive advantage.
