Shearman & Sterling advised Alps Alpine Co., Ltd (Alps Alpine) (formerly Alps Electric Co., Ltd.) in connection with an SEC-registered offer, which resulted in Alpine Electronics, Inc. becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Alps Electric Co., Ltd. The transaction was announced on July 27, 2017 and closed on January 1, 2019, with a total value of approximately ¥59 billion ($538.5 million).
