Energy Law in Africa

Associate Andry Zinsou (New York – Project Development and Finance)  presented on the topic “Financing Conventional and Renewable Energy Projects in Africa: Methods, Challenges and Perspectives” at a roundtable event called Energy Law in Africa. The roundtable, organized by the Doctoral School of Public Law of the University of the Sorbonne and the Permanent Mission of Gambia to the United Nations, took place on March 18 in the New York headquarters of the United Nations. The event was held in the framework of the 63rd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 2019), being held from March 11-22, 2019. CSW is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. The event featured discussions on the environmental issues of energy development in Africa, the question of human rights in the exploitation of natural resources in Africa and the complexities of financing energy projects in Africa.
