Shearman & Sterling Partners Named 2021 Law360 MVPs

Three Shearman & Sterling partners have been recognized in Law360's prestigious 2021 “MVP” list. The elite group of attorneys chosen as Law360 MVPs have distinguished themselves by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.

For the third consecutive year, Adam Hakki, Shearman & Sterling’s Global Managing Partner and Global Head of the Litigation Practice & Disputes Unit, has been named a Banking MVP for a string of courtroom victories for several different major financial institutions in a series of securities, commodities, antitrust and commercial cases alleging billions of dollars in damages and challenging conduct in the equity, fixed income, commodities, lending and other markets.

Stephen Fishbein, Litigation partner and Chair of the Criminal and Enforcement group, has been named a Competition/Antitrust MVP. Stephen has achieved three significant antitrust litigation victories in the span of less than a year, including a precedent-setting victory for 1-800 Contacts in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He also represented SS&C Technologies in obtaining the dismissal of two lawsuits relating to claims by competitors that SS&C monopolized alleged markets relating to financial technology software.

Ben Shorten, Project Development & Finance partner, has been named Project Finance MVP in recognition of his work on the development and finance of infrastructure projects with a particular focus on Energy. Ben has worked on some of the biggest project financing transactions in the world, including the largest project financing transaction closed in 2021 (the commercial and financial restructuring of the Sadara Chemical Project), and is currently advising NEOM on its Helios green ammonia JV in Saudi Arabia, the first green hydrogen mega-project to reach the construction phase.
