Fabio Fauceglia is a partner of Studio Legale Associato Shearman & Sterling LLP based in Milan where he leads the Italian Mergers & Acquisitions practice

Fabio has 25 years of experience in M&A and Private Equity transactions representing private equity sponsors, strategic buyers and Italian entrepreneurs and families on competitive auctions, take-private transactions, and cross-border acquisitions both on the buyer’s and seller’s side.

He has experience assisting clients across a range of industry sectors, including industrials, food ingredients, oil & gas, refining, web platforms and technology, chemicals and composites materials, cosmetics, logistics, aviation and services.

Among his notable transactions, Fabio led the global team advising General Electric in its $4.3 billion acquisition of the aviation business of Avio S.p.A., from Cinven and Finmeccanica, winner of the IFLR European Private Equity Deal of the Year.

Fabio joined Shearman & Sterling in 2001, becoming a partner in 2008. He received an LL.M. from Columbia University in New York and is qualified both as a New York and Italian lawyer. In 2017 he was recognized among the Top 50 Best Lawyers in Italy by Legal Community. In 2019 and 2020 was recognized among the Best Lawyers in Italy by Milano Finanza.
