On September 29, 2017, Shearman & Sterling’s International Arbitration practice hosted Alexander G. Fessas, Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, for a breakfast meeting to discuss the ICC’s role as an administering institution for arbitration, the advantages of arbitration and mediation, and recent trends in international arbitration globally and in the United States.  Mr. Fessas also discussed recent features and innovations in the new 2017 ICC Rules of Arbitration.  The breakfast meeting was organized by partner Jonathan Greenblatt (Washington, DC-International Arbitration), who is currently the USCIB Arbitration Subcommittee Chair for Washington, DC.
