Partner Adam Schwartz (Washington, D.C.-Litigation) participated in PLI’s Enforcement 2020: Perspectives From Government Agencies webcast on May 29, 2020.  Adam moderated a discussion with the directors of enforcement from both the SEC and CFTC, Stephanie Avakian and James McDonald, and the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for DOJ’s Criminal Division, Brian Rabbitt.

Adam’s panel, titled “Corporate Enforcement During a Pandemic: Perspectives from the Enforcers,” discussed recent DOJ, SEC, and CFTC corporate enforcement actions and resolutions, COVID-19 specific enforcement initiatives, and how the enforcement agencies have adapted to social distancing restrictions, including participation in virtual interviews, depositions, presentations, and settlement discussions.  This program was designed for in-house and outside counsel and compliance officers who respond to enforcement inquires and focus on compliance with regulatory requirements.
