In support of at-risk girls evacuating from Kabul, Afghanistan

M&A partner Nick Withers along with Senior Pro Bono Lawyer Nina Garnham and other members of the Firm’s pro bono volunteers hosted a roundtable event on Thursday, May 11 with 30 Birds Foundation, an organization that assisted 450 at-risk female students in their evacuation from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. Participants included 30 Birds Founder Bella Pollen, Executive Director Justin Hefterand, as well as some of the young women who were helped by 30 Birds to flee Kabul.

Shearman & Sterling’s work with 30 Birds includes establishing the organization’s UK-charitable arm and finalizing sponsorship applications to safely relocate the young students to Canada.
