Shearman & Sterling has expanded its Bay Area corporate finance practice with the addition of partner Christopher M. Forrester. Forrester arrives from Morrison & Foerster, where he practiced in their Palo Alto, Hong Kong and San Diego offices during his tenure with the firm. His practice focuses on corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance and compliance for public and private clients in diverse industries across North America and Asia.

Forrester has served as outside general counsel for organizations ranging from small private companies to public corporations, and he has advised investment banks on a wide range of matters, including public and private securities offerings and financial advisory assignments. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in various directories; was named as one of the Investment Dealers Digest’s “Top 40 Under 40” in Finance; and was selected as one of the best 10 business lawyers in San Diego. He writes and speaks often on corporate governance and US securities law matters.
