Shearman & Sterling Continues Expansion With Tax Partner in Washington, D.C.

Shearman & Sterling announced today the addition of Jay Singer as partner to the firm’s Tax practice. Jay will be based in the Washington, D.C. office.

For more than a decade, Jay has advised major public companies on cross-border spin-offs and tax-efficient structuring of complex acquisitions and dispositions. Having started his career in the IRS national office, he also adds to the inside-the-beltway expertise of Shearman & Sterling’s Washington, D.C. Tax practice in a way that is rare among M&A tax lawyers. Jay also brings a wealth of experience on internal tax planning and general corporate and international tax advice.
