Two Shearman & Sterling-led deals were named Deals of the Year by Latin Lawyer at its 16th annual awards ceremony and charity dinner, held in São Paulo on May 5, 2022. “Brazil’s IG4 Capital acquires stake in Peruvian infrastructure group Aenza,” was named as Deal of the Year in the private equity category and “Panamanian gas-fired power project secures finance,” won in the project finance: energy and natural resources category.

Every year, Latin Lawyer gives awards to general counsel and law firms advising on the most significant deals of the year across Latin America in 11 different categories. Winning deals must have closed between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021 and be predominantly based in Latin America.
