Shearman & Sterling advised Ares Management in connection with the unitranche financing in support of the acquisition by Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) of a stake in The Clear Group (“Clear”), a Chartered Insurance Broker that arranges business insurance and home insurance for various sectors. GSAM’s investment in Clear will enable the business to continue to pursue its growth strategy, including extending its reach into new markets through the targeted acquisition of high-quality, well-managed brokers.
