Shearman & Sterling represented Banco Itaú BBA S.A. and Natixis, New York Branch as global coordinators in connection with the origination of US $825 million in senior credit facilities for Ascenty Data Centers e Telecomunicações S.A., the largest provider of data center and connectivity services in Latin America, with data centers in operation and/or under construction in Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Colombia. Shearman & Sterling’s representation included negotiation of intercreditor arrangements with Banco Bradesco S.A., which led the simultaneous issuance of US $200 million equivalent of debentures by Ascenty in reais. The new facilities will allow Ascenty, which already has 34 data centers in Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Colombia, to expand its activities in Brazil.
