Christopher LaVigne, a partner in Shearman & Sterling’s Litigation Group and member of the Sports Group, was  a panelist at Cardozo Law’s 4th Annual Sports Law Symposium, which was  held on March 18, 2016 at Cardozo Law School in New York.

LaVigne spoke on a panel titled “Addressing Current Legal Issues in Daily Fantasy Sports.” The panel discussed the world of Daily Fantasy Sports, including recent regulatory challenges under anti-gambling and related statutes, and tackled the question of whether the “game” being advertised, invested in, and enjoyed by millions, turns out to be illegal gambling.
