Adam Hakki (New York-Litigation), partner and Global Head of Shearman & Sterling’s Litigation Group, was a faculty member at the Practising Law Institute’s 49th Annual Institute on Securities Regulation, held on November 8-10 in New York. The faculty at the institute included prominent securities litigators, government regulators and in-house litigation personnel at major financial institutions.

On November 10, Adam was a panelist for a session covering “Private Securities Litigation: Navigating the Latest Challenges,” which focused on:

  • Key considerations in bringing, defending and resolving private securities litigation
  • Implications of Leidos Inc. v. Indiana Public Retirement System
  • Application of  Janus, Halliburton II, Omnicare and Morrison
  • Current issues in D&O insurance 
  • Recent developments in shareholder derivative actions
