Representing Clients in White Collar Criminal Investigations 2019

  • Washington, D.C.

Partner Adam Schwartz (Washington, D.C.-Litigation) was a part of the faculty teaching a CLE class that provided an overview on representing companies and individuals facing white collar criminal investigations. The class took place on December 4 at the D.C. Bar.

As part of the class, the faculty focused on the pretrial investigative stage, including grand jury investigations and negotiations with the government to avoid indictment. Attendees learned about special concerns that arise when representing a company or an individual under investigation, including attorney-client privilege and ethical issues. This class was intended for attorneys who are new to a white collar practice, and for in-house counsel who need to know the basics of such investigations.
