In honor of International Women’s Day, Shearman & Sterling hosted a webinar on the contributions women are making to the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries.

According to a recent Gemini report, women make up more than half of the “crypto curious” population but only about a quarter of crypto holders in the United States are women. Despite the demonstrated interest by women in blockchain and crypto, women continue to be under-represented among cryptocurrency investors, but also among players in the industry. What can we do to encourage more women to actively participate? Speakers discussed the role women and male allies can play in addressing the gender disparity.
