Shearman & Sterling partners Barney Reynolds and Thomas Donegan (London-Financial Institutions Advisory & Financial Regulatory) spoke on a webinar held in conjunction with Innovate Finance on “Preparing for FCA Cryptoassets Financial Promotion Rules” on 25 July 2023.

The webinar covered the new financial promotions restriction for cryptoassets and the FCA’s related rules, which will take effect from 8 October 2023. Barney and Thomas discussed the FCA’s expectations of firms and some of the practicalities of AML registration and answered questions from industry members on the application of the new regime.
