Shearman & Sterling earned high honors at the 2014 Legalcommunity Finance and Tax Awards held in Milan on April 16, 2014. The firm’s work on high yield offerings for Manutencoop, SNAI and Astaldi during 2013, managed by combined Italian/London/US teams including partners Tobia Croff (Italy), Jacques McChesney (London) and John Wilson (San Francisco), earned the firm the “Italian Debt Capital Markets Team of the Year” award.

Legalcommunity is a specialized trade journal, with wide distribution among law firms, corporations, banks and the finance community, covering the Italian legal market. The shortlist and the final award for each category were determined by Legalcommunity, together with a panel composed of general counsels of leading Italian companies, as well as professionals from the world of finance, business and communications, on the basis of deals completed and a survey with operators of the finance segment (including banks and corporate clients). The nomination panel noted that the Shearman & Sterling Italian team is “competent and proficient” in the debt capital markets arena and “dominated the market of high yield offerings in 2013.”
