Shearman & Sterling represented the Province of Ontario (“Ontario”) in connection with Ontario’s public offering of C$500,000,000 of its 1.75% Bonds due October 9, 2018 (the “Bonds”). The Bonds are the first issued under Ontario’s green bond program that will help finance transit and other environmentally-friendly infrastructure projects across Ontario. Application has been made to the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (“LSE”) for the Bonds to be admitted to trading on the Euro MTF Market of the LSE.
