Shearman & Sterling Earns WILEF ‘Gold Standard’ Certification

Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) has once again certified Shearman & Sterling as a “Gold Standard Firm.”

Law firms with 300 or more practicing lawyers in the United States are eligible for the 2015 WILEF Gold Standard Certification if they successfully demonstrate that women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, highest leadership positions, governance and compensation committees and most highly compensated partners.

Added partner Doreen Lilienfeld (New York-Compensation, Governance & ERISA), a WILEF Advisory Board member, “This certification affirms and energizes the firm’s unwavering commitment to promoting and retaining its exceptional female talent. With women making up half of those enrolled in US law schools but only about twenty percent achieving equity partnership, it’s clear that much work remains to be done to level the playing field. Shearman & Sterling is proud to be at the forefront of such efforts in the legal profession.”
