Global law firm Shearman & Sterling has expanded its global energy practice with the addition of Donna J. Bobbish in Washington, DC. Ms. Bobbish joins the firm as counsel.

Ms. Bobbish has been in private practice for nearly two decades following her time in government service—first as a lawyer with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and later at the US Department of Energy (DOE) during the Clinton Administration as Director of the Office of Natural Gas Policy in the Office of Policy and as Senior Director, Regulatory Policy in the Office International Affairs.

As a private practice lawyer, Ms. Bobbish has focused primarily on US and international regulation of energy markets, energy transactions and energy project development. She has represented clients before FERC and the DOE and counsels clients with respect to regulatory issues and requirements arising in project finance and acquisition transactions. She also advises clients on legislative and regulatory developments affecting energy companies and transactions.
