Shearman & Sterling Expands Supplier Diversity Opportunities

Shearman & Sterling has broadened its opportunities for diverse suppliers with the launch of a new easy-to-use supplier diversity portal. The portal is designed to enhance representation for diverse suppliers in the firm’s vendor pool and increased opportunities to participate in our competitive selection process.

“This is an important initiative for the firm that will further our diversity efforts,” said Anna Brown, Shearman & Sterling’s Global Director of Diversity & Inclusion. “We look forward to establishing new relationships with diverse businesses and strengthening our supplier diversity program.”

Keith Borack, Global Director of Project Communications and Procurement added, “Our supplier diversity initiative is a great way to expand our outreach to a broad range of suppliers plus provide us information on great companies that can support the firms current and future business needs.”

Eligible vendors must be certified as a diverse business by a qualified third party to register. There are no fees required in connection with the supplier profile registration or participation in the program. A list of the types of products and services we purchase can be found on the site, and vendors will be contacted if an opportunity becomes available that matches their company’s offerings.

Since the portal’s launch in 2015, more than 170 vendors have registered with the firm. The firm anticipates many more vendors will participate in the months ahead.

Shearman & Sterling is committed to increasing diversity and furthering our inclusive culture throughout all aspects of the firm — from our talented lawyers and staff to the suppliers we work with to deliver the products and services our clients expect from us.
