Shearman & Sterling Ranks Among Top 10 on Prestigious ‘A-List’

Shearman & Sterling ranked 8th on this years American Lawyer A-List, which honors the 20 top law firms in the United States. To achieve A-List status, firms must earn high rankings in five areas: revenue per lawyer (RPL); pro bono commitment; associate satisfaction; racial diversity; and percentage of female equity partners. The American Lawyer added the female equity partner component this year to recognize firms that have made the most progress in advancing women to the partnership level.

With a rise from number 25 last year to number 8 on this years list, Shearman & Sterlings success on this prestigious list is fueled in large part by a dramatic 38.5 point increase in associate satisfaction.  The firms RPL score also rose by four points and its already strong pro bono score by an additional 3.5 points.

“We are honored to be recognized by The American Lawyer as one of the country’s most prominent law firms,” said Creighton Condon, Shearman & Sterling’s Senior Partner. “Our strong performance is an acknowledgment of our unwavering commitment to serve our clients, support our communities through pro bono work, and promote diversity and professional development within our ranks.”
