Global law firm Shearman & Sterling today announces the appointment of Heather Waters Borthwick as a Leveraged Finance partner in New York.
Heather brings extensive experience to the team, having advised financial institutions, commercial and investment banks, direct lenders, private equity firms and corporate borrowers on a wide range of financing matters. These include syndicated and direct lending leveraged acquisition financings (both domestic and cross-border), asset-based financings, investment grade lending transactions, debtor-in-possession financings and exit financings. Heather’s practice also has synergies with our global Insolvency and Restructuring practice.

Heather's hire follows the recent appointment of English law leveraged finance partner Gary Hamp in London.
Prior to joining Shearman & Sterling, Heather was a partner at White & Case LLP in New York.
