Cookiebot's Merger with Usercentrics

Shearman & Sterling advised Cookiebot, a subsidiary of Cybot, on the merger of its operations with Munich based competitor Usercentrics to become a global market leader in delivering solutions that help brands protect their customers’ personal information. From now on, the combined business will operate under the name Usercentrics. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Cybot launched out of Denmark in 2012 on a mission to enable websites to protect the privacy of their users, and to strike a healthy balance between data privacy and data-driven business. Plug-and-play solution Cookiebot consent management platform is built around a powerful scanner that automatically detects and controls all cookies and trackers on a website, ensuring a compliant use of data.
