Shearman & Sterling advised funds advised by Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) and their portfolio company Amadys on the financing of the acquisition of Muth Kommunikationstechnik GmbH in Germany. The acquisition is an important step in further increasing Amadys’ reach in the DACH region.

Muth Kommunikationstechnik GmbH – based in Kabelsketal near Leipzig – is a specialist wholesaler for electrical and communication technology offering data and network technology in the copper and fiber optic area for LAN and WAN networks.

Amadys, headquartered in Brussels, provides passive network equipment solutions to all utility networks, including fixed and mobile telecom networks and water, gas and electricity grids, as well as to general industrial businesses through its various operating companies. The company provides a broad range of products and services, ranging from fibre optic cabling and related products, to ducts, closures and covers, often in customised and unique specifications and combinations.

The Shearman & Sterling team regularly advises Equistone on financing matters and has recently advised the company on the financing of the acquisition of Amadys and the add-on acquisition of Infraconcepts.
