Shearman & Sterling has been named as one of the “Top 10 Firms in Japan for Cross Border M&A” in Asian Legal Business’ (ALB) inaugural Japan M&A Ranking. The firm is one of the five international firms honored in the list.

In its report, ALB sited the firm’s work for Hitachi in its $9.5 billion acquisition of GlobalLogic, Osaka Gas USA in its joint venture with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group to acquire Brighter Future Solar Farm, and Marubeni, INCJ and Mitsui OSK Lines in their sales of shares in Atlantis Investorco to a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eneti. 

The ranking results were based on the information ALB drew from firm submissions, Thomson Reuters M&A data, interviews, editorial resources and market suggestions.

The awards have been featured in the April issue of ALB Japan edition.
