Shearman & Sterling has been awarded Energy & Infrastructure Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2022. The awards, now in their 13th year and hosted by Law.com International, took place on 23 November in London.

The firm was recognized for its role advising the lenders on the project financing for a $12 billion world scale integrated gasification and combined cycle energy project within the Jazan refinery and terminal complex in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project is being developed by a JV between Saudi Aramco, ACWA Power and Air Products and is the world’s largest integrated project for gasification (including hydrogen production) and combined cycle energy production. The Shearman & Sterling Project Development & Finance team was led by partners Ben Shorten (London) and Lachlan Poustie (Paris).
