Shearman & Sterling celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8 with a hybrid event hosted by the FinTech Foundry, Diversity & Inclusion, WISER and Alumni Relations.
Law360 highlighted three tips shared by the event moderators and panelists on how women can excel in Legal Tech:
“I figure I’m smart, I can learn, and so when an opportunity presented itself to do something different, I said yes and figured it out,” said Joy Heath Rush, Chief Executive Officer, International Legal Technology Association.
Meredith Williams-Range, Chief Client Strategy & Growth Officer at Shearman & Sterling, believes people should learn how to work with AI technologies. “What will take our jobs are more tech-advanced lawyers,” Williams-Range said.
“If you want to grow in your career and you want to reach different levels, it’s important to have face time with people,” added Williams-Range.
Geline Midouin, Co-Executive Director & Chief Operations Officer at Shearman & Sterling shared that building mentorship programs and support networks can help people gain visibility.
“If you don't have [a support system], figure out who can be in your network that you can create one with because building relationships with people who are facing similar things can be really powerful and helpful,” she said.
