Shearman & Sterling Wins Thomson Reuters Foundation 2023 ‘TrustLaw Impact Award’

Helping to safeguard the rights of pre-trial detainees in India

Shearman & Sterling has been honored with the ‘TrustLaw Impact Award’ presented by the Thomson Reuters Foundation for its work on behalf of the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative to safeguard the rights of pre-trial detainees in India.

The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) is an independent, international non-governmental organisation working for the practical realisation of human rights throughout the Commonwealth. As the premier body promoting human rights in the Commonwealth, CHRI advocates for the protection and promotion of international human rights standards and adherence to the Harare Declaration and Commonwealth Charter principles. The CHRI celebrates the Commonwealth’s diversity and is determined to leave no one behind as it works to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
