Shearman & Sterling partner Derrick Lott has been named a 2023 Law360 Rising Star in Mergers & Acquisitions.

Over the past year, Derrick co-led teams that advised CVS Health Corp. in its $10.6 billion acquisition of Oak Street Health, and JetBlue Airways Corp. in its $3.8 billion acquisition of Spirit Airlines Inc., including its hostile tender offer to acquire Spirit and its “vote no” proxy campaign against Spirit’s prior transaction with Frontier Group.

Derrick also represented Boston Scientific in its $615 million purchase of Apollo Endosurgery along with its $1.75 billion acquisition of Baylis Medical Company.

Based in New York, Derrick advises clients on complex, high-profile public and private transactions as well as minority investments, joint ventures and corporate governance matters. In addition, Derrick regularly represents investment banks as financial advisors in M&A transactions.
